An EDward for direct marketing
kraftwerk’s stamp mailing received extradienst’s EDward award for direct marketing in March/April 2011. We mailed our “…likes it” stamp (which can be personalized with an individual’s first and last name) to selected kraftwerk clients, under the motto: “The times are changing!” As a result, the recipients can place their own personal stamp on their daily communications.

The Times are Changing. Newsletters, an ad in HORIZONT (a marketing periodical) and a Facebook action were used to communicate the mailing to a broad target group. For a limited time, fans who clicked the Like button on kraftwerk’s Facebook page had the opportunity to receive their own “…likes it” stamp by mail. It was our way of passing on the enjoyment of unusual communication ideas to hundreds of new fans, as well as existing clients.
kraftwerk likes it! Even after the Facebook action had ended, kraftwerk continued to receive numerous requests for the stamp – but it remains available only to selected clients and friends of kraftwerk. Owners of the exclusive stamp enjoy showing it off, and our agency has even received invoices and offers stamped with a personalized “likes it.” Undoubtedly, kraftwerk likes it too!
New Opportunities. Traditional media and new opportunities – kraftwerk combines classic advertising with new media, including mobile channels. The stamp mailing was used to illustrate the power of media convergence, and to let our clients and fans experience it in action. By now, many of our customers are equally convinced of the opportunities that innovative communication opens up, and they are ready to place their own stamp on communication in the future – with the “…likes it” stamp from kraftwerk.
